Marilyn Wallace, Head of Principia School, graduated from Principia College with degrees in music and elementary/secondary education. She also holds a Master’s degree in educational leadership from National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. She taught for 13 years in both public and independent schools before joining Quest Academy, a Chicago-area independent school for students from pre-school through eighth grade, serving as faculty member, president of the Parents’ Association, curriculum director, and head of school from 1993 to 2006. Marilyn has written articles and conducted numerous workshops on curriculum development, particularly for gifted students. In 1994 she was presented the Phi Delta Kappa “Outstanding Educator of the Year” award, and has also been selected to participate in national and international summit meetings at Harvard and Oxford Universities.

A lifelong Christian Scientist, Marilyn has served her branch church in many capacities, but teaching Sunday School has always been a favorite. She met her husband, who works in Principia’s accounting department, at Principia College. Her older son is a 2006 Principia College graduate and her younger son is currently a junior at the College.

“The Principia shall dedicate its service to the task of training its students to think—and to think clearly, vigorously, fearlessly, tolerantly, unselfishly.”
