International Student Admission

APPLICATION DEADLINE (including all documentation and references): MAY 1

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Interest in seeking a high school degree starting as a junior (grade 11) or senior (grade 12)–not an enrichment experience
  • Age no older than 17 and no younger than 15 when entering Principia–(school year begins late August and ends the first week of June)
  • Regular attendance at a Christian Science Sunday School
  • Sincere desire to progress in the understanding and demonstration of Christian Science
  • At least one parent who is a branch church member and committed to relying on Christian Science to meet the physical needs of his or her child

FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Each family is responsible for payment of tuition, room, board, fees, and any other expenses incurred during the year, including student allowance, personal items, social activities, clothes, and transportation to and from home
  • Send financial aid application (http://www.principiaschool.org/admissions/financial-aid/international) and supporting documents to the Director of Financial Aid at the same time as the admissions application

STEP ONE:

  • Contact Admissions at enroll@principia.edu for Part I of application:   
             o    Summary of Educational Experience (for all non-Canadian applicants),
                    along with grades for the previous two school years
             o    List of Additional Questions
  • Fill out and return Part I electronically

STEP TWO:

  • After successful review of Part I of the application, you will be invited to apply as a junior or senior via our online application at http://www.principiaschool.org/admissions/apply for:
              o    Upper School Application for Admission
              o    International Financial Aid Application, if needed
  • The applicant must have sufficient mastery of the English language, verified by a Toefl Exam (TOEFL): 
               o    Go to http://www.ets.org/toefl for testing dates and locations
               o    Our school code is 1964

STEP THREE:

  • After the Admissions Committee has reviewed the student’s applications and determined the student is eligible to attend Principia School, the family must supply the following:
               o    Copy of passport
               o    Official results of TB test         
               o    Student’s plans for winter, spring & summer breaks
               o    Health insurance selection
  • The family must show the ability to cover all expenses while the student is at Principia  
  • Send official transcripts from your school               

STEP FOUR:

  • Principia will supply the I-20 form, which the student takes to the embassy to obtain a student F-1 visa

STEP FIVE:

  • Admissions will send a letter of acceptance to the family with directions to fill out enrollment forms at www.edline.net/pages/Principia/Admissions
  • Family will send Admissions a copy of student’s visa when it is obtained
