Schulz Scholarship Application Form
Serving Principia in numerous capacities for nearly thirty years, Art Schulz embodied the very best of the school’s scholastic, spiritual, and leadership ideals. In grateful recognition of his example of Christian living and his impact on hundreds of young lives, the Principia Alumni Association, in 1982, established a special endowment in Art’s memory.
This gift provides a one-time $3,000 merit scholarship to incoming Upper School freshmen who have a family connection with Principia.
Eligibility
- Incoming freshman
- Have a parent or grandparent who is, or was, a member of The Principia Alumni Association
- Cumulative 7th and 8th grade GPA of 3.5 (on a 4-point scale)
- Active involvement in Christian Science Sunday School, church activities, and other Christian Science-related activities
- Outstanding citizenship
- Leadership participation in extracurricular activities
How to apply
1. Complete the on-line application form (www.principia.edu/school/admissions/upper/schulz.htm)
2. Complete an essay of 500-750 words, sharing why you should be considered for the Arthur F. Schulz Jr. Merit Scholarship. Include information about your academic achievements, your commitment to Christian Science (including church membership, participation in branch church activities, or how you’ve used Christian Science in your daily life), examples of your leadership in school, and any other extracurricular activities.
3. Provide two references – one that addresses leadership qualities and one that addresses your commitment to Christian Science. (Note: New students may use the same references that they supply during the Admissions process).
4. Submit the application form online, and email the essay and references to schoolfinaid@principia.edu

- April 2nd for students enrolled in 8th grade at Principia
- August 1st for new students
