Character Growth
Character unfolds naturally in our challenging yet supportive environment. Teachers expect students to express God's unlimited ability—and students rise to that expectation. Daily activities foster inclusiveness, integrity, and community, with many special opportunities for students to take on responsibility, lead others, and work together. Weekly chapels, School-spirit activities, and community service projects contribute to our caring culture as well.
Principia School's Community Commitment (summarized below) guides our thoughts and actions and helps us help each other.
Strive to understand and express God in all you do
Conquer “all that is unlike God” (Science and Health, p. 262)
Love God and your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:27)
Give unselfishly
Service Learning
Getting involved and taking on responsibility are integral to good leadership and sound citizenship. Principia students find multiple opportunities to step up and give of themselves—through the House and Crew system and through local and global service activities. Fall Character Trips
Upper School students kick off each school year with a weeklong wilderness expedition that strengthens their practice of teamwork and understanding of Christian Science.
