Academic and College Counseling
The Academic and College Counseling Office helps Principia students make informed decisions as they chart their way through Upper School and plan for college and, eventually, careers. College readiness guides our work as we encourage students to explore options, demonstrate their full potential, and be nimble, lifelong learners.
Our experienced counselors get to know students well, working closely with them throughout their Upper School experience. Starting in freshman year, we help students select appropriate courses and begin exploring their interests and aspirations. Later, we help them identify a range of colleges and universities that match their interests, prepare for and complete the college application process, and choose the best possible fit.
The number of students matched with each counselor is small enough that we can address individual academic needs as well as issues of balance, motivation, relationships, and community standards.
The 66 members of the class of 2017 received 136 acceptances from 80 colleges
