The Upper School counseling office helps students make informed decisions as they chart their way through high school and plan for further education.
Our counselors enjoy helping students evaluate and select the right sequence of Upper School courses, prepare for the college application process, identify a range of colleges and universities that match their interests, and then choose the best possible fit. (Take a look at our College Resource Handbook to see how our counselors approach the college search and selection process.)
As Christian Science educators, we believe that intelligence and capabilities come directly from God, as do the most appropriate avenues to express and develop them. Through regular meetings and individual communication, we help students overcome limitations and demonstrate their full potential. Two full-time counselors work closely with students throughout all four years of Upper School. The number of students matched with each counselor is small enough that the counselors can get to know each student well, which, in turn, enables them not only to meet individual academic needs but also to provide assistance, as needed, with issues of balance, motivation, relationships, and community standards.
