Junior and Senior Kindergarten

Unfolding individual capabilities

At the Junior and Senior Kindergarten levels, students attend five full days, which provides continuity and enriches the spectrum of work and play opportunities. The Junior program (four-year-olds) balances independent work time and cooperative learning and play. Throughout the day, the essential lessons of interacting with others are taught and practiced.

Senior kindergarteners (five-year-olds) concentrate on reading and math readiness and increased independence in social skills. They write each day, immerse themselves in the culture of another country for six weeks in the spring, and share their discoveries with others daily.

At both levels, a curriculum of music, art, movement, science, literature, horseback riding, Spanish, phonics, and math strengthens foundational skills in an experiential learning environment.

“My daughter loves school so much that she doesn’t understand why we have days off. The Junior/Senior Kindergarten has helped my daughter expand her horizons of friendships, activities, and academics. The learning that goes on is so precious. I’ve had four children go through this class, and each one has felt cherished and has learned so much.”
