Learning along all right lines
The Nursery class for three-year-olds has a flexible schedule. Children may attend five half days or five full days. During the day, children practice selflessness, self-reliance, and self-control. Learning to listen and follow directions, as well as using independent thinking and peacemaking skills, gives nursery students a sense of order and security in their relations with friends and teachers. A hands-on classroom environment includes pet care, outside play and nature discovery, job responsibilities, creative play, music, language development, and problem solving. Frequent field trips expand the children’s horizons from home to school to community.
Whoever heard of teaching horseback riding in preschool to further character education? That is exactly our purpose at Principia. Beginning with the Nursery class and continuing in Junior and Senior Kindergarten, children attend weekly riding lessons in the corral to practice spiritual qualities including confidence, patience, fearlessness, dominion, and self-mastery. Besides, it’s just plain fun!
