We invite interested families to schedule a visit to get to know us and meet our teachers.
In Principia’s Early Learning Center (ELC), our team of experienced caregivers provides loving attention and engaging playtime interaction for infants and toddlers—from six weeks to three years of age.
We nurture each child’s development and joy in making new discoveries and reaching out to new friends, and we weave Christian Science-based character education into every day’s activities.
The ELC strives to provide a stimulating, safe, and creative environment with varied experiences that support the spiritual, moral, physical, social, and intellectual development of each child. On a daily basis, the children do all this and more:
Children enrolled in the ELC benefit from Principia founder Mary Kimball Morgan's conviction that “. . . from infancy, children should be taught obedience to Principle, forgetfulness of self, patience, endurance, courage in the right, self-control, and faith in God” (Education at The Principia, p. 23).
The Early Learning Center is located in its own building on the School campus and has direct access to a shaded and protected outdoor play area.
During the academic year, the ELC is open from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We provide full-time or part-time care and allow drop-ins if space is available.
We are closed during Principia’s Thanksgiving break, Christmas vacation, and spring break, and for two weeks in July. (Summer operating hours are determined based on demand.)
If you’d like to apply, please set up a meeting with us. We will be happy to meet with you and lead you through the process, including completing informational forms and required State documentation.
