Student Life

Middle School social life is an active one. Socializing is a priority for most middle schoolers, so opportunities are provided that encourage students to develop many friendships. Student Council (comprised of ten elected Middle School students) plans and carries out several events throughout the year. Some of the activities are optional, and others are required. All social activities are designed to encourage growth in social graces, practice in establishing and maintaining good relationships with peers, and most of all, to enable everyone to have fun!

Required social activities include dance instruction, a spring dance, an etiquette dinner, and a variety of concerts. Most Middle School students will tell you that even the required social activities are good times. Optional social activities often include game night, movie night, drama productions, picnics, and an annual trip to the local Six Flags amusement park.

In addition, there’s always time for students to just “hang out.” You’ll find them sharing a snack at the bookstore, tossing a Frisbee on the lawn, shooting pictures for the yearbook, cheering classmates at an athletic event, relaxing at the girls’ or boys’ dorm (Middle School boarders’ home away from home), and chatting with friends or teachers.

“The Halloween dance was so much fun! I give it an 11 out of 5 stars, two thumbs up, and a pizza! The strobe lights and dancing were cool. It was really fun to dance with someone or as part of a group.”
