Are you ready to learn? And think?

We mean really learn . . . how to learn, how to live, how to grow, how to give.

And really think . . . "clearly, vigorously, fearlessly, tolerantly, unselfishly."

The Principia Upper School community values learning, thinking, and action. Here, students from all over the world come together with dedicated educators to rise to new intellectual challenges and break limitations.

We offer a full array of courses in all major academic subjects, as well as AP and dual-credit (or college credit) classes. Students can choose from a wide variety of electives as well. Our excellent pupil-teacher ratio (7:1) and daily conference periods ensure that teachers really get to know students and can help them realize their full potential.

It’s not just what you learn at Upper School that makes Principia a remarkable place. It’s also how you learn!

Mad about Math

Upper School math teacher Jim Moser loves helping students grasp new concepts and make connections in math. He also works with students as a coach for football and tennis.

Learning Across Borders

Upper School French 3 students traveled to France for an incredible weeklong, cross-curricular learning adventure to explore art, architecture, and history in Paris, Giverny, and Normandy.

Advanced Placement Scores 2014

The two highest Advanced Placement (AP) scores are 4 and 5. In 2014, Upper School students took 84 AP exams across six subjects. Of those exams, 55 percent earned a 4 or 5. (For Missouri, the percentace of 4s and 5s in the same subjects was 30; globally, it was 34.)

Academic & College Counseling

Our full-time counselors are ready to work with you from the minute you step onto campus—whether as a freshman or a transfer student. They can't wait to get to know you!
