Get ready for an incredible adventure, Principia community! From October 22–25, our tenth graders will jump into the professional world during our second annual internship program—and it promises to be an eye-opening experience. Imagine swapping your classroom for a bustling workplace. This isn’t just a field trip—it’s a thrilling four-day exploration of careers that could ignite lifelong passions! 

Guided by Beth Juell-Pomeroy (C’99), our dedicated sophomore grade-level guardian, this initiative truly sets Principia apart. As Beth puts it, “Very few schools offer such hands-on experiences for students. By providing internships in tenth grade, we help them explore careers before they even reach college.” Last year, students thrived in diverse settings, from dynamic law offices where they attended real cases to creative local businesses buzzing with innovation. 

During the program, students will job-shadow professionals across various fields, including STEM, engineering, design, and more. After a full day immersed in their internships, they’ll return to school—or connect via Zoom if they’re out of town—to debrief with their Crew leaders. This time allows students to reflect on their experiences and discover more about their aspirations and potential career paths. 

The internship initiative is thoughtfully crafted to align with Principia's intentional and experiential teaching methods and is designed to provide our students with valuable early career exposure. By graduation, students can have the opportunity to complete three internships, equipping them with a competitive edge for their futures.
