Day in the Life: Lower School

Here are a few special moments possible in the day of a Lower School student.

8:10 a.m.

We love to start the day sharing information and inspiration.

8:30 a.m.

Morning literacy sessions always begin with reading.

8:50 a.m.

Working in pairs is a good way to practice and get feedback.

9:15 a.m.

Our teachers are so supportive—and fun!

9:45 a.m.

Morning recess is a great time to discover what happens when you puff on a dandelion.

10:15 a.m.

After recess, it's time for some math.

11:15 a.m.

Lunch in family style is fun!

12:40 p.m.

Afternoons are busy with projects and hands-on work in a range of subjects.

1:00 p.m.

We often conduct research outdoors and bring back samples for further study.

1:30 p.m.

Planting and caring for nature are great ways to learn about science.

2:00 p.m.

The Lower School Gym is a great place for indoor PE.

2:15 p.m.

We love spending time on our outdoor climbing wall during Principia Adventure sessions.

2:30 p.m.

On Wednesdays, we have After-School Enrichment where we build with Legos, create artwork, and learn sports.

2:45 p.m.

By the time we get to grades 4 and 5, we all learn how to play a band instrument.

2:50 p.m.

In the art studio, we often create multimedia pieces that relate to our study of science or social studies.

3:00 p.m.

Sí, hablamos español! All Lower School students learn Spanish weekly.

3:30 p.m.

We can’t wait for another day of learning with friends.
