Application Dates & Deadlines

Applications for the fall 2026–2027 semester opened September 15, 2025.

Fall 2026–27 Deadlines:

December 12, 2025: Fall semester 26-27 priority admission application due - 9th grade
January 13, 2026: Fall semester 26–27 priority admission application due - all other grades
After January 13, 2026, admission is rolling based on class-level availability.

Complete admission testing using the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test utilizing one of their virtual or in-person testing options.
Principia is offering an in-person testing option open to the public on November 15, 2025 and January 31, 2026.
9th grade applicants must have their testing complete by January 13, 2026. All other applicants must have their testing complete by February 6, 2026.
While the SSAT is Principia's preferred standardized test for Upper School, we will also accept the ITBS (Iowa Basics), NWEA MAP (Growth), Stanford Achievement, or ERB, provided the test was taken in the last six months.

School Records – An official transcript with the current school year and the two previous school years must be submitted, as well as any school records including standardized testing results.
Teacher Recommendation – Within the SAO (Standard Application Online) there are required teacher recommendations that must be from a current core subject teacher.
Personal Recommendation – Within the SAO a recommendation must be submitted by an someone other than a teacher whom has worked directly with your child, such as a tutor, coach or music teacher.

Students who turn 19 years old prior to July of their 12th grade year are not eligible for school admission
