Safety
The safety of students is Principia School's highest priority. Principia School is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all individuals that participate in activities on campus.
All Camps 360 Program faculty and staff are First Aid/CPR certified. In consultation with the Principia Athletic Trainer, Summer Program faculty and staff will treat minor student injuries using their first aid training. If a student is significantly injured, Camps 360 Program faculty and staff will immediately call 9-1-1 and then notify the parents and/or guardians of the student involved.
In the case of minor or major incidents, an Accident/Injury Report will be filed by the Principia faculty and staff involved in addressing the situation. Families will be notified of any safety concerns by the Principia Director of Summer Programs.
Discipline
At Principia School, discipline is viewed as a community responsibility, with all faculty and staff contributing to, and maintaining high standards of student conduct. During the Camps 360 Program, all staff will clearly communicate academic and behavioral expectations at the start of each session. Faculty and staff are responsible for holding students accountable to these expectations using best practices in activities, field play, and classroom management.
Camp management issues, including, but not limited to, minor infractions such as socializing during class or tardiness, may be addressed by the the Camp Leader/Teacher at their discretion. In cases when a student does not respond to the teacher's corrective measures, the teacher may refer the student to the Camps 360 Program Director.
