Early Childhood
Principia’s Reggio Emilia-inspired programs for Early Childhood help young children—and their parents—take those important first steps on the road to lifelong learning and growth. Our offerings include an Early Learning Center (for infants through young three-year-old children), which operates daily during the school year; the weekly on-campus and two preschool classes: one for children ages three to four, and another class for children who are four to five years old.
Infants and toddlers thrive with the loving attention and engaging experiences our educators provide.

Defining Elements of Our Early Childhood Program
Reggio Emilia-inspired Program
A major component of our Early Childhood program involves investigating the easily accessible woodland areas on our campus. Children explore the creeks, ponds, and trails learning about seasonal cycles, plants, and animals that live in these habitats.
Purposeful Play
Children pursue their curiosity and build confidence through a variety of engaging learning experiences.
Developing the Whole Child
Our safe, creative environment supports children's intellectual, social, spiritual, moral, and physical growth.
Levels of our Early Childhood Program

Parents and their children through three years of age connect with each other and with experienced early childhood educators for early social and learning experiences outside the home.
Early Learning Center
Infants and toddlers from six weeks to three years of age receive loving attention and engaging activities in a play-based, Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environment.
Preschool
Two separate classrooms for three- and four-year-olds provide hands-on learning in a Reggio Emilia-inspired environment where students become protagonists — creative, capable learners expressing limitless potential.
