Need-Based Assistance

Education is an investment. That’s why Principia awards assistance to families with students who align with our commitment to excellence. We offer awards to families who qualify based on their application. The process for tuition assistance is competitive as funds are limited.

Principia is proud to use Clarity to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application, which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts. 

Typical Awards

Household income is one of many factors we take into consideration when determining how much tuition assistance to award. Tuition assistance awards are based on the cost of tuition and do not typically cover fees and additional expenses such as school uniforms, supplies, travel expenses, etc.

Here is a breakdown of typical tuition assistance amounts:

Timeline 

October 23, 2023: Clarity application opens for continuing and new students 

October 31, 2023: Target submission date for continuing students* 

November 30, 2023: Clarity application deadline for continuing families 

Early Application Deadlines:

• December 8: Grade 9 
• January 9: Grades 6–12 
• January 26: Early Childhood–Grade 5 

April 1, 2024: Priority Application TA Deadline** 

June 1, 2024: All 2024-2025 TA Application Deadline***  

*Target Submission Date is the date by which we hope to receive the majority of applications from our continuing families.  If we have not received your application by this date, you can expect to be contacted for support and encouragement. 

**TA Applications submitted after the priority application deadline may run the risk of receiving a reduced aid package, since funds may be limited at this point in the admissions cycle.

***Any applicants who submit after the 06/01 Deadline should not have any expectation of TA availability. Applications will still be available but awards will be given according to fund availability after this date.

Steps to Apply For Tuition Assistance 

Step 1: Visit Clarity and create your account. 

Step 2: Complete all components of the Clarity application; include all information necessary to support our understanding of your request: 

• The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete and is mobile-friendly. 
• Application can be submitted to any school that also works with Clarity for no additional charge. 

Step 3: Enter payment information ($60 fee) and submit application form.
